We swept Home Depots for this company. When they lost the Home Depot contract they didn’t pay us for work we’d done but wanted us to do work on some Lowe’s locations. We refused until we were paid for the old invoices and are now considering having to go to collections on the issue, or to an attorney.

We have sent numerous requested documentation and our invoices to Mirror Lawn. We have no service complaints but the company has not paid us in several months. When we said we were quitting sweeping they paid us some of what was owed. In our opinion the company is trouble.

Several weeks ago I received a call from Cassey at Mirror Lawn Care regarding bidding Lowes stores for sweeping, starting Nov.1. I currently was servicing 11 stores for Merit (whom I worked well with) in my area but the contract had been won by Mirror. I submitted a list of stores in striking distance but it was clear that the price budget they provided of $25/ visit was significantly lower than my current price but I would be willing to discuss the contract. It turns out that I have 19 in my area that I could service.
Mirror was supposed to get back to me and never did. After two attempts on my part to reconnect and close out the conversation regarding the bid process, I gave up. On Nov. 2
nd I received two calls, the first from Theresa and the last from Ray at Mirror (I am not sure that is his real name.) The net of this was he threw around several references that he worked with and that his accepted price was $35 / visit to sweep the Lowes. He stated that he was being paid $32.50 so he was willing to take a loss and would pay in 10 days. I specifically asked if these references had accepted a contract with them at this price, he stated very clearly yes.
When I continued to rebuff his offer and the time frame (to start of
that night; it was 5PM on Nov. 2
nd), he proceeded on to describe his child’s terrible illness he had been dealing with in the days / weeks prior and that is why no one ever got back to me. He was very detailed to describe how sick it made him to watch his child suffer.
I called his reference because I actually do know him, and “Ray” was lying. In fact his reference does not do ANY stores for him, does not take his calls and hasn’t worked for Mirror in 10 years. I would bet that his child was not sick, which is of course highly unethical, and if his child was sick that makes his use of that story to pressure me to take his ridiculous bid not only unethical but immoral. There is no way this behavior goes unchecked unless it comes from the top of the organization. Mirror Lawn Care – Turf Doctor…beware.
May 2015 The person making these comments requested anonymity: Mirror Lawn has been slow to pay in recent times. They also agreed to sweeps at a particular price and then when the contractor received the agreement back to sign it was for a price that was $10 less per sweep. The representative was also caught out on making several statements the contractor knew were not true about another sweeping contractor in their area.
May 28, 2013 The person making these comments requested anonymity: Mirror Lawn short paid an invoice 60 days after it was invoiced (90 days after service was provided) without any NOTIFICATION of a problem. They never even indicated what location or days they were ‘deducting’, or even advised us when we called regarding the outstanding invoice. Only when the payment was received did we notice the deduction and of course, no one was available to explain or provide ANY specifics.
