November 1, 2023 Dear WSA Members, ![]() As previously reported, WSA tried to get involved in assisting one of our members in getting paid from CASE Facilities Management Solutions. The company would not even return our email or phone messages. The member sent a recent update about his effort to get paid, which included that CASE won’t even respond to his attorney. Now, he plans to move toward filing a suit. If you have had experience with sweeping for CASE, positive or negative, please let us know. ![]() The new Telwell virtual urgent care benefit appears to be very potentially beneficial to your workforce – and should contribute to better employee/family health as well as work attendance. If you are not going to be providing the $250/year per employee-and-family program to your employees, we strongly encourage you to provide your employees with copies of this 2-page handout so they can learn about it. A reminder of the basics: For only $250/year ($21/month) one of your employees and their entire family receive unlimited access to discuss routine and urgent care medical issues with board certified physicians via a phone or video link. The doctors can then prescribe whatever medications are indicated and send them to the patient’s preferred pharmacy through an included discount program. Here’s the link to our WSA member explanation page. For more info, call our program contact person, Rico Tucker, at 619-391-1856. If you missed the FREE webinar that was hosted by Heavy Duty Trucking on October 19th entitled: “VMRS – The Best Kept Secret in Fleet Maintenance” then you still can see it via this on-demand link. (VMRS stands for “Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards” and you will be asked to register with them to attend.) Organizing the files on your computer can be tricky. If you’re not careful, your files and folders could become a sprawling mess that becomes difficult to navigate and find what you need. There’s no perfect way when it comes to computer file management, but these Windows file management techniques will help you create order from chaos. The white paper, “Top Tips for Organizing Your Computer Files,” is a ‘PDF cheat sheet’ that you can print out and keep by your side – or file away as part of your computer organizational plan. ![]() It will soon be time to renew WSA memberships for 2024. Since inception, we have sent new ‘padfolio’ presentation folders at each renewal. Over time, many of you have told me that you always look forward to upgrading from the well-used padfolio from the previous year. However, a relative few have told me to skip sending them a padfolio since they are not being used. I’d like to solicit your input on the topic: the current plan is to continue sending presentation folders next year – unless your feedback is that something different is needed. If you know of an item you believe would best serve WSA members upon renewal this year please tell us about it. If you have an opinion on that or, as always, if you have questions or comments about this WSA Member Update, or anything else to do with the World Sweeping Association or power sweeping in general, please let me know. Good Sweeping, ![]() Ranger Kidwell-Ross, Executive Director World Sweeping Association |
