December 15, 2023 Dear WSA Members, As we head into 2024 here are the top three suggestions for CEOs of large companies. I thought them a good reminder for all business owners (click here if you want to read the actual article at ChiefExecutive.net): Prioritize that your team is clear about your purpose/vision. Focus on making sure your management team is on board with your vision. Drive transformation designed to make your company better next year than they are now. It’s also a good time to make sure you don’t somehow have liability you aren’t aware of. In 2022, WSA member Pro Sweep Inc. was WSA/WorldSweeper’s winner of our annual Award of Excellence in Power Sweeping. In large part, this was due to the company’s 21-year zero accident safety record. We just learned the company continued its unblemished record in 2023. Congratulations to the entire Pro Sweep team for such a difficult – and noteworthy – accomplishment! BTW, if you know of a person and/or company to nominate for this honor for 2024, please let me know. Since some of you said you wanted a renewal padfolio – and others said they have collected enough of them – this year you’ll have a choice of a different renewal thank you item. When you renew, please let me know if you want to be sent the usual padfolio or an 11oz coffee mug with the WSA logo on one side and, on the other, a great vintage sweeper cartoon that was the favorite ever featured in American Sweeper magazine. When you renew, please let us know whether you’d like the padfolio or the 11oz. cup. We already have a success story with someone (you know who you are…) using the optional TelWell urgent care member benefit. He had a severe and very painful arthritis flare-up with his knee. Under his Telwell program, he conferred with a board certified doctor for no charge; received a diagnosis; the doctor sent a prescription to his local pharmacy; and, he says he had almost immediate relief. However, as we head into the new year I want you all to know that I plan for this to be my last year taking an active role as director of WSA. It’s time to retire so I can pursue my many other interests and hobbies. In the coming months I will be looking for a successor who can continue in this role. If you have ideas on that topic, please tell me your thoughts about it.
