WSA Member Update 6.15.24

June 15, 2024 Dear WSA Members, Congratulations to Bruce Christianson and the WSA member company he manages, Pro Sweep Inc., for its recent feature article in NA Sweeper magazine. This month, our Safety First! post has info centered around keeping your employees and company safe, both from injury to workers and to your company by their actions. June’s Safety First! message discusses the following:You Tell Me: Had any near misses? How can we do a better job of safety?Heat-Related injury recognition and actionHad a tetanus shot lately?Say “Cheese:” Expect any and all of your actions to be caught on cell phones. In regard to the ‘near misses reporting’ listed above, here is a link to what the Health & Safety Institute has to say on the topic. This includes the fact that OSHA “strongly recommends companies require the tracking of all near misses. HSI has even created a near miss policy template to make it easy for companies to create a policy.”  I’m always interested in your suggestions about what you’d like to read in our twice-monthly updates.
