WSA Member Update 9.15.23

September 15, 2023  Dear WSA Members,  First off, one of our WSA members, Jefferson Koehn and his Kansas-based J & J Sweeping, is looking for one or two used twin-engine parking area sweepers. If you have one for sale or know about other leads that might help him find what he needs, please send him an email.  This article, “A Pocket Guide To Maximizing Tax Returns For Subcontractors,” from the Foundation of the American Subcontractors Association provides solid information on what you can and cannot write off when preparing for your taxes.  I am sure Government Fleet’s white paper, “A Fleet Manager’s Guide to Prepping for Winter Operations,” will be of interest to those of you who sweep through the winter, though will be of more interest to any of you who do snow abatement like plowing and salt spreading.  WSA member, Mike Oetting, responded to the WalMart Special Report we brought to you in our last WSA Update. Mike wrote back about his company’s experience with no longer sweeping for WalMart, which he calls an altogether positive experience.
