When most people get into the sweeping contractor business, they do so by starting to sweep parking lots. Eventually, though, many contractors decide they want to branch out but are unsure of the considerations in getting into construction sweeping and/or street sweeping, two logical areas of expansion.
The linked audio podcast is a conversation between WSA’s founder and executive director, Ranger Kidwell-Ross, and a Texas-based contractor who’s been in business since 2006. At the time of the discussion, the contractor, ‘Brent,’ had six parking area sweepers running routes in his market area, which was one of the states major metropolitan areas.
In the podcast, Kidwell-Ross discusses a variety of things to think about when choosing what type of sweeper to buy when wanting to expand out of parking area sweeping. Rather than recommend a specific make/model of sweeper, he brings out all the considerations that should be on the table when deciding how to proceed.
The podcast is about 27 minutes in length. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call the WSA office.
